Audience Award Results – 8th SFN Loutraki Animation Festival

The 8th SFN Loutraki Animation Festival concluded with great success, welcoming hundreds of animation enthusiasts at the open-air Electra cinema in Loutraki. The venue filled early in the evening, creating a truly celebratory and cinematic atmosphere under the stars.

As every year, the festival featured a curated selection of original, bold, and emotionally resonant short animation films from around the world. One of the highlights of the closing night was the announcement of the Audience Award, a beloved tradition that reflects the viewers’ immediate connection with the films they experience.

8th SFN Audience Award – Results

1st Place: Travelous – Iran
Directed by: Samira Hoseini


A powerful yet delicate animation from Iran, offering a poetic and personal journey. The film stood out for its originality and emotional depth, earning the audience’s top vote.

2nd Place: Storytelling – Switzerland
Directed by: Nils Hedinger


A minimalist yet meaningful narrative about the enduring power of stories. This visually simple but thought-provoking film struck a deep chord with the audience.

3rd Place: In Between – France
Directed by: Nour EL ACHKAR, Roxane DAVID, Morgane CHAUVET, Flora ROUVEL, Lucie PERALES, Cindy FANCHONNA, Sacha MOREAU


A French student group project that impressed with its strong artistic direction and contemporary storytelling approach. The film was warmly embraced by viewers for both its technique and heart.

The presence and active participation of the audience is the beating heart of the SFN Loutraki Animation Festival. The Audience Award is more than just a recognition—it’s a reflection of genuine, spontaneous connection between story and spectator.

This year’s festival featured dozens of short animated films from diverse countries, offering a vibrant mosaic of styles, techniques, and cultural voices.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the filmmakers who submitted their work, to our volunteers, partners, and most of all—to you, our audience, for showing up and supporting independent animation with such warmth and energy.

We’re already looking forward to SFN 2026, with more screenings, surprises, and an even stronger international presence!
